OB Guy Pepper (Dale,21) Player of the Match. Premiership Champion. Now England call-up.

From Barney Prep School all the way to International Duty, we are thrilled to share the news that Old Barnardian Guy Pepper (Dale, 21) has been selected for the England squad to face France in the international rugby friendly at Twickenham this Saturday, 21st June. This comes hot on the heels of Guy's exceptional display in the 2025 Gallagher Premiership Final, where he was named Player of the Match in Bath Rugby's championship-winning performance just last weekend. His leadership, physicality and composure under pressure were clear for all to see on one of rugby's biggest stages.

Guy's rugby journey began on the historic playing fields of Barnard Castle School where his commitment and natural talent quickly marked him out as a player to watch. A regular feature in school fixtures and a key presence in the 1st XV, Guy embodied the Barney values.

After leaving school, he further developed both his academic and rugby skills at Durham University, one of the UK's leading institutions for sport. His performances at Durham, known for producing top-tier talent, caught the attention of professional clubs and it wasn't long before Guy signed with Bath Rugby, one of the country's most storied Premiership sides. Since joining Bath, Guy has become a central figure in their pack, known for his relentless work rate, fearless defence, and rugby intelligence beyond his years.

David Cresswell, Headmaster of Barnard Castle School, said: "We are incredibly proud of Guy's journey and achievements. His success is not only a testament to his own hard work and resilience, but also a source of great pride and inspiration for our entire school community. He represents the very best of what it means to be an Old Barnardian." Whether wearing blue and brown, Bath blue and black, or now the white of England, Guy inspires the next generation of Barney pupils who take to the field, they do so with the knowledge that with dedication and belief, the path from our northern rugby stronghold can indeed lead to the summit of the English game. Congratulations, Guy your school is behind you every step of the way. You can watch the match live on RugbypassTV at 3:15pm
