OB Guy Pepper (Dale '21) made his debut and earned his first England cap against Argentina. This follows his selection for the England XV against France last month and his role in Bath's Premiership win. Words from Second Master, Martin Pepper: "Here at Barnard Castle School, rugby has a proud legacy, and Guy has added to it in his own determined way. While he was here, I saw the resilience, humility and ambition he brought to everything he did. As his father, I couldn't be prouder – and the whole Barney community is behind him." From Headmaster, David Cresswell: "We are immensely proud of Guy Pepper on his well-deserved selection for England. This is a huge achievement and a testament to his character, ambition and hard work. He is a fantastic example of a Barney student: grounded in our community, caring for others (especially as Head of House) and demonstrating real resilience and leadership. Balancing his studies at Durham with his rugby, he shows what it means to dare greatly and aim high. Everyone at Barney will be cheering him on." We'll be cheering Guy on during the tour in Argentina. Come on England! |
