Women's Rugby World Cup charity lunch at Kingston Park
Monday, 14 July 2025

Old Barnardians and our Sports Department represented Barnard Castle School at a special Women's Rugby World Cup charity lunch at Kingston Park with Wooden Spoon Charity raising over 20,000 for rugby projects across the region.

This inspiring event featured rugby legends Allister Hogg and Robert Vickers alongside business leaders and advocates celebrating the rapid growth of girls and women's rugby.

Master i/c Rugby, OB Lee Dickson (North '03) met international referee Sarah Cox and five outstanding young female referees highlighting the importance of visibility and opportunity in the game.

Thank you to OB Tony Underwood (Tees '87) for hosting our table with such warmth and to OB Amy Alderdice (Bowes '17) and former Headmaster, Tony Jackson for attending. We are proud to support the foundations and future of women's rugby!
