We were delighted to see OB Liam Johnson (Dale,06) come back to Barnard Castle School yesterday for the Headspace Lecture Series. Liam has an incredible career as a screenwriter and comic writer, with 47 episodes of Emmerdale to his credit and a regular contributor to the long-running comic, 2000 AD. Liam talked about facing a health issue whilst at school and the determination that gave him not to take no for an answer and pursue his writing and television dreams. With excellent advice shared with our students like 'always be kind, it gets you a long way and have a back-up plan so that you can be resilient to changes of direction.' It was inspiring stuff and we are really grateful for his time and visit. |
